I have over ten years of industry experience, and have been a part of design and development projects for many exceptional companies during those years, including Apple, Intel, Alpine USA, Bosch Tools and many others.
I specialize in standards-based XHTML, CSS and JavaScript web development. Each site I develop is built to be search engine friendly, using the latest development principles and techniques. I believe that great design is in the details. I also believe that design must support functionality, and vice versa. One can't, and shouldn't, be used to overcome the weaknesses of the other. Design is more than just choosing colors, typefaces, shapes, and images. Good design works to present information in such a way as to support the information it presents.
When I design a web site, I'm constantly considering how the site will be built and how it will function. This way, you can be sure that both design and usability will be considered along every step of the way.
I specialize in XHTML, CSS, and JavaScript front-end web development. In addition to being well versed in standards-based markup practices, I have production experience with several major JavaScript libraries. I also offer content management system integration, for easy site maintenance. I have experience with WordPress, Drupal, Expression Engine and Mura.
In addition to front-end web development, I also offer development in Ruby on Rails, PHP and ColdFusion. I have an extensive network of freelancers I work with for other languages, and I can assemble just the right team for your project.
Site marketing and search engine optimization (SEO) are geared towards achieving a high ranking in the major search engines. Site marketing and SEO, however, are not enough. While natural search engine traffic is key to a site's success, making sure that traffic converts should be your primary goal.
My goal is to get you focused traffic, while continually refining your site to increase conversion rates. My site marketing process encompasses three major stages- search engine optimization, user tracking and conversion improvement, and internet marketing through pay-per-click advertising.
I've been involved with projects for many great companies, large and small. From managing and coordinating the front end development of massive social media applications, to developing the most basic small business sites, I've got a wealth of experience that I bring to your project.
I'm based in the San Francisco Bay Area (specifically, Santa Rosa/Sonoma County). I've been designing and developing web sites since 1998, and I love what I do. Designing and building great web sites isn't just a nine-to-five job for me—it's a passion.
When I'm not developing web sites, I'm a musician and a photographer. My wife and I have one incredible daughter, and two lovely Australian Shepherds, Josie and Bailey. I like good food, and good wine. My favorite book is On the Road, my favorite film is The Big Lebowski, and I can't begin to pick a favorite record.
